The Plot In You’s Landon Tewers is back again with another single: I Like It - a track much more radio-friendly than his earlier singles Need to Change or Don’t You. I love side projects because they have no pressure associated with them. Landon can wake up one day and write a hardcore song or a pop-punk song and that genre will not depend on radio plays, streams, or even satisfying a fan base. We don’t need to like it, only Landon needs to.
Despite going in a much more mainstream direction with this new single, I surprisingly really love this song. Landon speaks to the highly emotional part of us that feels highs like heaven and lows like hell. There is nothing better than when everything is going right in life and nothing worse than when things go terribly wrong - in this sense, I can really connect to this song. Every song I hear with Landon’s vocals on always stuns me. He can hit any pitch, scream and most importantly convey emotion flawlessly through his vocal and emotional range. I Like it is actually fairly simple vocally, but as I said earlier – you can hear the love and compassion he puts into every note.
